The next round is a collection of works to which their makers are adding the finishing touches in preparation for their presentation next year.
The second installment of the epic film ‘Gladiator‘ will be released in November 2024, more than 20 years after the release of its first installment, which is one of the icons of world cinema entrenched in the viewer’s memory.
The film’s director, Ridley Scott, decided to start the events of the second part with a new generation of warriors away from the battle of Maximus and Commodus, so the film’s protagonists, Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix, did not participate in the new experience, and the role of the character “Maximus” ended with his death at the end of the events of the first part.
The new film stars in a cast that did not participate in the previous sequel, most notably Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, and Joseph Quinn, along with Denzel Washington and Egyptian-American actress Mai Qalamawi.
Scott assigned the writing of the story and script for Gladiator 2 to David Scarpa, with whom he had previously collaborated on his film Napoleon, and Scott abandoned the three writers who presented the first part of the film.
Filmed between the UK, Malta and Morocco, Gladiator 2 faced many crises during its production, from repeated incidents on set, which at times led to a massive fire that led to injuries to the team, to the suspension of filming due to the strike crisis of actors and screenwriters in Hollywood.
Audiences are set for another date with one of the icons of world cinema in 2024, with the fourth installment of Bad Boys, by Belgian directors of Moroccan origin Bilal Falah and Adel Larbi, scheduled for release in June.
Starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, who are embarking on a new adventure with Marcus Burnett and Mike Laurie, this part marks the first absence of Captain Conrad Howard, portrayed by American actor Joe Pantuliano, and features new stars such as Eric Dunn, Rhea Seahorn and Melanie Lebord.
