The number of Israeli army deaths increased in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood

• The Israeli army website published the names of 7 additional soldiers killed in Operation Sword of Jerusalem launched by Palestinian resistance factions against Israel on October 7.
• This brings the total announced number of Israeli army deaths to 286 officers and soldiers.
• The Israeli army said in a statement that it had notified the families of the 7 officers and soldiers killed.
• The Al-Qassam Brigades and other Palestinian resistance factions have been carrying out Operation Sword of Jerusalem against Israel since October 7, so far killing over 1,300 Israelis and capturing large numbers, according to Israeli figures.
• The Palestinian resistance says it has inflicted human losses on Israel that are multiples of the announced figures.
• In response, Israel bombed homes, schools, hospitals, and mosques in Gaza, killing over 2,300 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
• For the ninth day in a row, Gaza – under blockade since 2006 – is undergoing intense Israeli airstrikes that have destroyed entire neighborhoods.
• Israel announced it is preparing for a major ground operation in Gaza with the goal of defeating Hamas, while the United States has sent two aircraft carriers to the region to support Israel and warn others against engaging in the conflict.
